DOWL elects Kristen Hansen to serve as Chair of the Board
DOWL is pleased to announce new leadership for our Board of Directors, effective immediately. The Board selected the talented Kristen Hansen to serve in its highest role. She takes over the seat that was previously occupied by DOWL President and CEO Stewart Osgood, who will continue to serve in his existing roles.
Kristen joined the company in 2002 after a successful career with the State of Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities. Over the last 18 years, she has acquired additional ownership and taken on additional responsibilities in the firm while growing and diversifying the Environmental and Land Development Practice Area as its leader. Kristen has overseen some of our largest and most notable environmental projects and has added mining companies and energy clients to our client base.
She joined the Board of Directors in October 2016 and has served on numerous Board committees. “I am honored to take on this role,” Kristen said. “I’ve had the privilege of observing Stewart as an example of solid leadership on the Board over the last four years and I’m excited to help carry the torch for DOWL’s continued success.”
Kristen holds a BS in Biopsychology from the University of California – Santa Barbara and a MS in Environmental Science from Alaska Pacific University. Kristen and her husband Rick reside in Anchorage, and they have two children – one in 9th grade and one who’s a sophomore at MSU. She and her family are avid trail runners and skiers and love to be outdoors.
