DOWL wins top honors at Montana chapter’s ACEC Engineering Excellence Awards
DOWL is honored to announce that the West Fork Upper Battle Creek Diversion project in Alaska has been recognized by ACEC Montana with the Grand Project Award at this year’s Engineering Excellence Awards.
The project was constructed to divert more water to Bradley Lake and increase annual production at the Bradley Lake Hydroelectric Project (BLHP) by 10%. This will provide about 37,000 MWh more renewable energy per year – enough electricity for 5,000 homes. The project consists of a diversion dam and two miles of pipeline to capture flows from the Upper Battle Creek Basin and direct the water to the Bradley Lake Reservoir.
