Bear Creek Greenway Trail
DOWL has collaborated with multiple stakeholders working for various clients in southern Oregon since 1993 to complete segments of the Bear Creek Greenway Trail – a vital link in the Rogue Valley for non-motorized commuters and recreational users alike.
The overall project includes more than 20 miles of paved trail along Bear Creek that connects the cities of Central Point, Medford, Phoenix, Talent and Ashland. The trail network includes multiple grade-separated crossings, numerous bridges over waterways, several retaining walls, parking facilities, and wetland mitigation sites.
Due to the success of the project, there are future plans to extend the trail northward along the Rogue River to connect with the City of Grants Pass.
In 2014, the Pine Street to Upton Road section opened to traffic and completed the core 20-mile segment.
