Chief Andrew Isaac Health Center Expansion
DOWL provided site design, new and relocated utilities, a traffic study, expanded parking, and geotechnical design of permafrost soils for this healthcare center expansion. This $110M project added a second building to the site, creating more of a medical campus. The expansion conflicted with numerous existing utilities, requiring not only utility expansion but also relocation. The project required careful site layout planning to merge the existing improvements with the new facility space requirements, which was challenging due to the available land. This project used the CMGC project delivery method resulting in a staged design delivery, with early delivery of the utilities design and site layout following in coordination with the rest of the design team.
