Cleveland Creek
The Siuslaw Watershed Council removed all fish passage barriers on Cleveland Creek except one culvert near the confluence with the Siuslaw River on Hwy 36. DOWL designed a 70-foot-long single-span prestressed concrete bridge to remove the barrier and improve fish passage. The scope included full hydrologic, hydraulic, and geomorphic analyses consisting of Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife (ODFW) and National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS)-required analysis, as well as compliance with Oregon Department of Transportation and programmatic biological opinion requirements. Our fish passage stream design was closely coordinated with ODFW and NMFS throughout design.
