Holter to Helena Transmission
NorthWestern Energy is replacing approximately 18 miles of overhead transmission lines from Holter Dam to Helena, Montana. This transmission line provides power for the Helena Valley. The replacement consists of using steel towers to reconstruct approximately 36 wood towers. Due to the undulating terrain, DOWL conducted the geotechnical investigation using a track-mounted drill rig with an associated track-mounted water rig. DOWL provided L-Pile geotechnical parameters and structural design for the client.
