I-105: Willamette River Viaducts
This project rehabilitated seven bridges on I-105 and its associated ramps between the Delta Highway Interchange and downtown Eugene. DOWL evaluated design alternatives, made recommendations to ODOT, and completed design for a range of repairs, including deck overlays, seismic retrofits, deck overhang strengthening, and bridge rail replacements and retrofits. The successful bid opening came in $200,000 under the engineer’s estimate. Project duration was just over four years.
DOWL evaluated different bridge rehabilitation measures, including bridge deck overlays, bridge rail retrofits, joint selection, and traffic staging scenarios. We used a decision matrix to compare alternatives for ODOT to select the preferred set of bridge rehabilitation measures while staying within budget.
