Johnson Wetland Mitigation Project
The Johnson Wetland Mitigation Site will provide compensatory wetland mitigation for anticipated impacts from future transportation projects. DOWL was retained by the Montana Department of Transportation to analyze the viability of the Johnson property to serve as a wetland mitigation bank and subsequently to provide design phase services. The project included a wetland delineation and wetland functional assessment; hydrologic analysis and wetland water budget; groundwater modeling study, including well installation and monitoring survey; and an environmental resource investigation. DOWL performed a feasibility study to identify potential available wetland mitigation credits and project costs. DOWL was additionally hired to take the selected alternative through to final design.
