Mortimore Lane Reconstruction
Professional services were provided to Fremont County including right-of-way (ROW) acquisition, design, design surveying, bidding assistance, and construction administration services for the reconstruction of approximately 2,000-feet of Mortimore Lane located south of Lander, Wyoming. DOWL successfully assisted Fremont County with a Transportation Alternatives Program (TAP) grant application to secure funding for incorporation of a pedestrian pathway along the project corridor.
DOWL provided assistance in ROW acquisition which included indentification of affected landowners and providing documents for easements/acquisition for the final roadway alignment. Design of the roadway included drainage evaluation and geometric design, and owner and public meetings were conducted to collect input. Pavement design was based on results from information collected from these meetings as well as the previous water upgrades project. The project scope also included wetland delineations as required by the United States Army Corps of Engineers, and a categorical exclusion was completed and coordinated by DOWL with the Wyoming Department of Transportation (WYDOT) for TAP funding compliance. Construction documents and specifications were prepared using the WYDOT guidelines, bidding assistance was provided, and construction administration that included observation and materials testing was also provided.
