Trilogy Metals (formerly NovaCopper) hired DOWL to conduct environmental, water, and aviation studies in support of their project. DOWL conducted a wetland reconnaissance of approximately 35,000 acres to assist Trilogy Metals in preliminary planning and design efforts associated with the development of prospective mining infrastructure. Two separate Preliminary Wetlands Determinations were conducted: the first in July 2015 for a 3,018-acre study area and the second in July 2016 for a 2,892-acre study area. Habitat mapping and a large mammal survey were also conducted in 2016. DOWL is currently under contract to assist Trilogy Metals with permitting.

A Preliminary Water Balance Study for the Arctic Deposit Site was completed which established baseline hydrologic conditions for two watersheds near the Arctic Deposit Site and provided estimates of water availability for potential mining operations. Tasks included performing reconnaissance trips to identify suitable locations for weather stations and streamflow gauges, developing a streamflow gauging plan, installation of weather and streamflow gauging equipment, performing annual discharge measurements, and monitoring and recording the climatic and streamflow data. DOWL also conducted a feasibility study to examine the use of Dahl Creek Airport to support proposed mining operations.
