Wapato Diversion Dam and Headworks Repairs
The Wapato Irrigation Dam provides water for 142,000 acres of high-value farmland adjacent to the Yakima River in south-central Washington. DOWL provided a multidisciplined team of structural, water resources, geotechnical, mechanical, electrical, and civil engineers to assess the project facilities. DOWL performed a condition assessment of the irrigation assets and developed rehabilitation plans for approximately 750 irrigation facilities and hundreds of miles of irrigation canals, laterals, and distribution pipelines. Now that design plans are complete, we are working through environmental compliance, including a fisheries assessment and biological assessment.
