Warm Springs Creek Emergency Bridge Replacement
During severe flooding, significant erosion occurred behind the bridge wingwalls resulting in the road closure of Highway 191. Highway 191 is an important transportation corridor serving the rural communities of north-central Montana. All aspects of this work were completed on a fast-track schedule over the course of just three weeks. DOWL provided emergency response including site and hydraulic surveys and hydraulic design for a proposed precast replacement bridge structure. Project specific tasks included development of a base map in Microstation, hydrologic evaluations, HEC-RAS modeling of existing and proposed conditions, scour depth evaluation, design of scour revetments and bridge and riprap layouts, and development of a hydraulics report.
