Washington County Fairgrounds Master Plan
On behalf of Washington County and as a subconsultant to LRS Architects, DOWL prepared a planned unit development (PUD) request for the next phase of expansion at the fairgrounds where two near term projects were envisioned. One project involved the design and construction of an approximately 88,000-square-foot expo center where conferences, trade shows, musical events, and other entertainment events could be held. The other project involved the design and construction of a 44-space RV park that was to be located just south of the event center. As required by the City of Hillsboro, new projects within the county’s fairgrounds zoning designation, Station Community Fair Complex Institutional, first required city approval of a master plan through a PUD process. DOWL successfully completed the PUD entitlement for the project and are now on the design team tasked with designing and permitting the new expo center.
