Williams Northwest Pipeline Bridge Inspections
DOWL performed project management, design, and inspection services for 12 bridges in four different west coast states. Large suspension spans ranged from 700 to 1,920 feet, requiring aerial lifts and extensive climbing to reach all parts of the structures. In addition to conducting the inspections, team members both designed and inspected the installation of hold points and fall arrest systems for use during inspection and maintenance.
Our inspections of Williams Northwest Pipeline Bridge infrastructure included the Flaming Gorge bridge, as well as Green River and Kemmerer compressor stations in southwest Wyoming. Station work included structural inspections of buildings, foundations, and OSHA safety audits of equipment, ladders, and catwalks followed by rehabilitation design and construction management.
We organized the bridges into localized groups to create efficient schedules, and our crews conducted inspections for multiple consecutive days to minimize the number of trips and miles traveled. We completed all inspections meeting agency standards, on time with zero delinquent dates, and within agency budget.
